The Take This Mental Health in Games Awards honors digital and tabletop games which represent excellence in compassionate, non-stigmatizing portrayals of mental health, normalize mental health challenges, and uplift the mental wellbeing of the game community!
We’re excited to announce that nominations for the 2024 Take This Mental Health in Games Awards are now open! These awards, formerly called the Dr. Mark Awards, recognize excellence in compassionate, non-stigmatizing portrayals of mental health and mental health challenges In both video and tabletop games. The awards recognize games that go above and beyond in portraying the cornerstones of the Take This’ mission: mental health issues, healing, and hope.
This year, for the first time, we will be recognizing four games in the following categories:
- Mental Health Representation in Video Games
- Community Choice Award in Video Games
- Mental Health Representation in Tabletop Games
- Community Choice Award in Tabletop Games
Take This will also review qualified games for a special mention of a game or games which foreground player safety and provide best in class content warnings.
